Leona Amelia (Muxlow) McCulloch age 100 (a twin of sister Leota) of Peck died June 22, 2025 at her daughters home in Richfield. She was the daughter of Isaac and Grace Muxlow. She graduated from Brown City High School Class of 1942 and played with her sister in the Max Milligan Band. Leona received her beautician license from the Paramount Beauty School but she chose to raise her family first. Leona married Francis McCulloch on August 14, 1973.
Leona owned and operated with her sister and husband, Ray’s Bar and Eatery in Imlay City and later the Pennfield Restaurant in Peck for 25 years. She was a past member of the VFW Auxillary in Imlay City. She was loved and respected by all in the farm community of Peck and became known as the “Jewel” of Peck. Many of the Muxlow clan still reside in Brown City where she was born and raised.
She is survived by siblings Rod Jensen, Debra (John) Hubbard and Holly (Tim) Laarman, Joanne (Pat) Richard and Bill McCulloch, 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank, daughters Brenda (Tom) Roth, Linda (Fred) Sage, twin sister Leota and Zella, brothers Elmer, Lewis, Pete and Lawrence.
