Lisa Kathleen Iden
1967 – 2025
Lisa Kathleen Iden, 58, of Kinde, passed away peacefully on July 5th at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Bad Axe, Michigan, to Elwood and Guydeane Kirkpatrick, Lisa lived a life of love, devotion, and was a natural caretaker. Her faith was an important part of who she was — something that guided her throughout life and gave her peace in her final days.
Lisa discovered a love for cattle as a young girl, working on the family farm alongside her grandfather. She returned to the family farm after college, and became the primary herdsman, caring for her cattle until her last days. Lisa also found incredible joy watching the birds around her home, and tending to her garden.
Lisa loved her family most of all. Lisa was a devoted wife and mother, caring for young and old. She was the heart of the family, the glue that held everyone together.
Lisa is survived by her husband, Craig; her sons Eric (Erin), Derek (Jessica), and Nathan (Kortney); and her grandchildren Isabella, Javier, Kinsley, and a fourth grandchild on the way. She also leaves behind her mother, Guydeane; her brothers Dean, Ron, and Brad, along with their spouses; several nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Jan, and special cousin, Debbie.
She was preceded in death by her father, Elwood, her grandparents, Ross and Eula, Miller and Francine, and mother-in-law, Evelyn.
Visitation is from 2 to 8 pm on Wednesday, July 9th; at the MacAlpine Gage Chapel in Kinde.
Funeral service for Lisa will be 11 am on Thursday, July 10th at the Bad Axe First Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor David Wilson. There will also be visitation at the church on Thursday, July 10th from 10 am until time of service.
The family would like to thank Carrie Lewis and her staff from Heartland Hospice for the extraordinary care.
Memorials may be offered to Heartland Hospice.
Though she will be deeply missed, Lisa leaves behind a legacy of love-and the comforting hope that she is now at peace.

We are so sad to say goodbye to Lisa. She had a great sense of humor and such a loving heart. Though we lived far apart, I loved our long phone conversations. She was a steady rock in tough situations. We send our deepest sympathies.

Lisa is my SIL. I would call her, not just to chat, but for advise. Level headed, always able to see the big picture, she was able to have me see it too. I valued her opinion above many other people I could have asked. It was one of her gifts.
I don't know how Heaven works, but I know mom was waiting to greet you. I have planted an Oak tree in your honor, birds will live there someday, and I'll look out my window and see you.
