Lloyd "L.M" Page Obituary

Lloyd Monroe “L.M.” Page

Lloyd Monroe “L.M.” Page, 78, of Mullins, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Born on February 17, 1947, L.M. lived a life marked by compassion, love, and unwavering devotion to God, his family, and friends.

He attended Clemson University from1965–1966 before graduating from Pembroke State (now UNC Pembroke) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. A lifelong Clemson fan, he followed the Tigers with passion and proudly treasured a football signed by Coach Dabo Swinney.

L.M. began his professional life as a middle school teacher, serving for five years with patience, empathy, and a deep commitment to shaping young minds. He later returned to his agricultural roots, working as a tobacco farmer and tobacco warehouseman for a significant portion of his career. His knowledge of the land and tobacco earned him respect throughout the region, and he remained deeply connected to the farming community.  In 1988, he developed Bayou Village into a thriving mobile home park and quickly made lasting friendships through this venture.

He was a member of Mullins First Baptist Church since 1967.  In recent years, he relied on daily devotion and scripture readings to support his faith.

L.M. was a former member of Fork Masonic Lodge and of the Little Pee Dee Shrine, where he found fellowship and purpose in service.

He was also a passionate collector and restorer of vintage radios, and a proud member of several organizations dedicated to preserving radio history: the Antique Radio Club of Charlotte (NC), the Mid-Atlantic Radio Club, the Michigan Antique Radio Club, and the Antique Wireless Association in New York. He and his wife enjoyed many years of collecting antique radios and attending radio club events throughout the United States, forming lasting friendships and sharing their love for the golden age of communication with fellow enthusiasts.

They traveled frequently prior to 2014, visiting all 50 states. Many of those journeys were made even more special by their granddaughter Savannah, who joined them every summer from 2008 through 2017 and a few special short trips to their beloved Sight and Sound Theater near Lancaster, PA.

L.M. also cherished time outdoors, especially fishing with his father-in-law, J.L., over many memorable years. Among their proudest moments was landing a remarkable 17.5-pound largemouth bass—a story retold with pride and humor throughout the years.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 59 years, Jimmy Lynn Page; his son, James L. “Jay” Page; daughter-in-law, Robin Redfearn Page; granddaughter, Savannah Page; his sister, Harriet Page Atkinson and her husband Johnny of Mullins; his sister-in-law, Cecelia Dew Brown and her husband Tom of Hartsville; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whose lives were touched by his straightforward approach and humor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Omega Cottingham Page; his brothers, Randy Page (Josette) and Mitchell Page; his niece, Gina Collins Page; his parents-in-law, J.L. and Glennie B. Dew; and his sister-in-law, Sarah Dew Floyd.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. James Smith of McLeod Oncology for his compassionate care and guidance over the past nine years. Special appreciation is also given to Dr. Maqsood of Pee Dee Nephrology and to McLeod Hospice—and especially Morgan, Tatrice, Leah, all the nurses and caregivers at McLeod Hospice House in Florence, SC as well as Lorrie, Cheryl, Mel, and Eva for their dedicated support during L.M.’s recent illness. Their expertise and kindness brought comfort and dignity throughout his journey.

A visitation will take place at Mullins First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall on Monday, July 28th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.  A funeral service will be held at Mullins First Baptist Church Sanctuary at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 29th.  Burial will follow at Cedardale Cemetery in Mullins, SC.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to: Mullins First Baptist Church Care Givers, PO Box 443, Mullins, SC 29574 • Pure Water, Pure Love (through WMU), PO Box 830010, Birmingham, AL 35283-0010.
