Michael Gallien Obituary

Lafayette, LA-----– Memorial services for Michael ” Mike” Gallien, 76, will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Carney Funeral Home, 602 N. Pierce Street, Lafayette, Louisiana.

Family Gathering will be held Saturday, June 7, 2025 at the funeral home from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service. 

Michael “Mike” L. Gallien was born September 13, 1948 to Elnora Lewis and Willie Gallien. He was called home to be with the Lord on May 26, 2025. He was a proud father of Kevin and Devin Gallien.

Michael was a loving caring father, family member and friend. Who was always there to help others in need. He was a cheerful giver to all and always had an open door to serve others. Landscaping was his happy place. Whether he was planting flowers, trimming trees, or designing something new, it was where felt more alive His love and joy was left in every yard he touched. He had other career paths during his lifetime, such as working offshore and environmental industrial worker. He was also an amateur boxer, where he earned the nickname “Rock” The nickname “Rock” stuck with him thought out life due to his hard head.

He leaves behind his cherished son Kevin Gallien; grandchildren: Devin Gallien, Mia Gallien, Addison Gallien, Leonardo Gallien, and Seth Gallien; (2) brothers: Al Anthony Gallien and Abray (Terralen) Milson II; (4) sisters: Mary Ann (Henry, Sr.) Eaglin, Nevelyn Lewis, Marva Jane Fils, Emma Milson; (1) sister-in-law: Catherine (Cathy) Gallien.

He was preceded in death by his son: Devin Gallien; mother: Elnora Lewis; father: Willie Gallien; sister: Beverly Thibodeaux (Leroy Thibodeaux), Madeline Gallien and Geraldine Thomas; brothers: Willis Gallien and Patrick Gallien; brother-in-law’s: John (Jonny) Fils and Ulyesses (Tiggy) Lewis.

To those who knew Michael (Mike) Gallien we feel a deep lost, but please remember that he’s now home, living in constant peace and joy, with no more pain and suffering.
