Mitchell Devoe "Mitch" Dickey Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Mitchell Devoe “Mitch” Dickey, 66, of Pea Ridge, Arkansas.

He leaves a huge hole in the hearts of his family and friends who were always entertained by his stories and hilarious sense of humor. He truly was the life of the party!

Mitch (Cowboy to some) was born October 25, 1958 to Ford Jarvis Dickey and Denna Faye (Brasel) Dickey in Harrison, Arkansas. He passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 10, 2025.

He was beloved by most who met him. No matter the circumstance, you’d always leave with a story or something funny or crazy that Mitch did or said while you were with him. Mitch loved his family beyond measure! He also loved anything in nature. One of his favorite pastimes was fishing, he was an awesome leather craftsman, and was a jack of all trades. Mitch had a great love for his dad who taught him the true meaning of being a great man and father! Mitch often told Chrissy that he hopes the ole man is upstairs looking down and saying “son, you finally got it right!”

He graduated from Valliant High School in Oklahoma in 1977towards the top of his class. He loved sports of all kinds and excelled at track and cross country in high school. He earned a Master’s degree in American Literature from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. He worked at Tyson’s for 18 years and when he retired he was working in refrigeration. Mitch was preceded in death by his father. Ford Dickey and one sister, Victoria Smith.

He is survived by his loving wife, Chrissy Ann Dickey of Pea Ridge, AR; his children Brittany Manning Warapius of Texas; Caitlin Dickey of Green Forest, AR; Graceann Elizabeth Dickey of Pea Ridge, AR, and his only son Dakota Christian Dickey or as he was called by his daddy, “Bubbie” of Pea Ridge, AR; his mother Denna Dickey of Harrison, AR; sister Karen Henry of Harrison, AR; brother Gary Dickey of Harrison, AR; nephews Corey Dickey (Ashley) of Harrison, AR; Kevin Henry (Tina) of Harrison, AR, and Chance Dickey (Laci) of Texarkana, AR; his aunt, Kathy Brasel Villines of Harrison and his uncle, Bennie Joe Brasel and wife, Kathy Ann Brasel of Jasper, Arkansas.

Sometimes along life’s way, you meet people who are like family! He is also survived by his “brother from another mother” Chris Hunt.

Celebration of Life Services will be on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 2 pm at the Iron Stob Chapel, 4536 Hopewell Rd. Harrison, Arkansas 72601 with Rev Dale Hale officiating. Come with your best stories from the time you knew Mitch!

As Mitch has always said “BLESS THEIR LITTLE HEARTS!”

I share many memories of Mitchell. His sense of humor was indeed humorous at times. He knew I hated snakes, he ran over one in the road and went to pick it up to come scare me with it. Well, it was alive and bit him. That joke was on him!! And I did feel bad and glad he survived it.
Never tried that again.
He thought he was the King at playing spades too! I hope and Billy Bowen are together talking/reminiscing their hunting days! Prayers for you all.
