Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God - Matt 5:8
David Martin Deal was the sole child of the union of Martin Deal, Jr, and Nell "Pie" Clark on August 27, 1947, in Meeker, Louisiana. He lost his mother, "Pie," as an infant and was raised by his father with the help of his Louisiana Uncle, "Pap" Woodrow Clark, and Aunt "Poo" Mayola Clark.
Being the only child, David (nicknamed "Bo-Bo") formed close brother and sister connections with his various cousins from Louisiana and Port Arthur, TX. David attended Carter C. Raymond grades 1st-8th in Lecompte, Louisiana, and graduated from Lincoln High School in Port Arthur, Texas, in 1965. He furthered his education and obtained trades in Air Conditioning/Refrigeration and Diesel Mechanics.
David served his community as the neighborhood mechanic as a pastime, but worked in various chemical plants throughout Southeast Texas for many years before retiring in 2005. He was an involved member of the Cathedral of Faith Baptist Church's Men's Ministry, Food Pantry, and Male Chorus. David was loved greatly by his classmates, coworkers, fellow brothers in Christ, family, and friends.
David was preceded in death by his parents: Martin Deal, Jr. and Nell Clark; uncle and aunt: Woodrow and Mayola Clark; close cousins/brothers, George "Papa" Clark and Tommie Deal, Jr.; and his sons: David Todd Deal and Desmond "Moopy" Deal. David passed away in his Beaumont, Texas, home on Saturday, October 4, 2025.
His love and memories will remain in the hearts of his sons: Marque Demond Deal and Shon Keith Deal; his aunt, Rosa Deal; close cousins who were like sisters and brothers to him: Pearlie Deal, Susie Williams, David Clark, and Willie Deal; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.
