QUEENSBURY - Nancy Virginia Swinton, 68, passed away at Glens Falls Hospital, on her own terms, on January 16, 2025, with her family by her side.
Nancy was born on February 21, 1956, at Glens Falls Hospital. Her parents, Walter and Teresa (Picheo) Deyoe, were blessed with a total of 11 children whom she was very close to.
She graduated from Glens Falls High School in 1974 and started a career in accounting which she truly enjoyed. Her favorite job, however, was at St. Mary's School in Glens Falls where she worked with some of her favorite little ones.
On December 6, 2014, surrounded by their friends in South Carolina, Nancy married her true love, Donald Swinton.
She was a longtime fan of the Miami Dolphins and dolphins in general, she loved every moment at the ocean on the beach with her flip flops and a book, enjoying the sunshine and sand.
Nancy also enjoyed cross stitching, reading, gardening and baking and kept busy with them all when she wasn't hosting family gatherings and spending time with those who meant most to her.
She was predeceased by her parents; grandparents; infant sister, Robin Renee Deyoe; and her beloved Sheltie, Joshie.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband, Donald Swinton; her two sons, Jeremy (Sandra) Dickinson and Jamie (Misty) Dickinson; her 7 grandchildren, Alexandra, Austin, Leroy, Damien, Autumn, Noel and Iszic; her 9 siblings, Carol (Jerry) Brooks of Alabama, Kathy Deyoe of Gansevoort, Jayne Relyea of Mayfield, Tony (Melva) Deyoe of Texas, Patti (Rick) Meyers of South Glens Falls, Ken (Patty) Deyoe of Glens Falls, Peggy (Virgil) Blaise of Oklahoma, Ann (JP) Jones of Glens Falls, and Peter of Gansevoort; her very best friend, Michele Therrien; many loving nieces and nephews; and a community of forever friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 22, 2025 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette Street, Queensbury, New York 12804. Please come as you are, tye dye, flip flops, or anything blue!
Her family wishes to send a heartwarming thanks to the incredible nurses and staff at the Glens Falls Hospital Tower 2, with special mention to the Interventional Radiology department.
Nancy was an avid blood donor. We ask that in lieu of flowers that you take the time to give blood or donate to the American Red Cross.

I used to work with Nancy at Ayco. We had a lot of fun at the office. She was such a sweetheart and I will miss her laughter. Sending my sympathies and prayers to her husband Don and her family.

I never met Nancy, but I knew Donald from the military, and know what a good person he was. Sorry for the loss. I lost my wife on Christmas morning in 2007.
