Peggy A. James peacefully transitioned to her eternal home on July 2, 2025. She was the beloved daughter of the late Phill Pryor Jr. and Mollie A. Pryor. She was preceded in death by her four brothers: Lee Samuel, Phil Allen, Willie, and Curtis Pryor.
Peggy was a quiet and humble soul whose warmth touched everyone she met. She was always ready to lend a helping hand and found great joy in giving gifts to her family. Her kind spirit, friendly nature, and radiant smile will be deeply missed.
Peggy leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She is survived by her devoted sister, Penny Bates, devoted brother-in-law, Kevin Bates; her loving godson, Lester Tyler; her goddaughter, Ebony Mines; and those she considered her children—Kevin and Kern Pryor—as well as her loving grandchildren, Tierra and Travious Tyler, affectionately known as “Nanny”.
She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Katherine Pryor, as well as a host of loving nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends. Devoted nieces Joyce Morris and Sharon Young. Special appreciation to Wallace Pryor, Keyandra Pryor, Kenneth Pryor, Ronald James, Nikisha Diggs, Howard Morris, Linda Pryor and Joyce Leonard. They were all dear to her. She is now reunited in spirit with her beloved cousin, Cinderella Wyatt, who always held a special place in her heart.
Peggy deeply loved all her great and great-great nieces and nephews, who brought her much joy. Her gentle presence, generosity, and unconditional love will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
