Rankin McDaniel Obituary

Rankin Lee McDaniel, 77, of West Columbia WV, went onto his heavenly home on Sunday, August 10, 2025 with his loving family by his side.  He fought a long and courageous battle with cancer.  Rankin was the beloved husband of Juanita (Dunlap) McDaniel for 44 years.  

Born February 14, 1948 in Mason County, he was a son of the late Clarence Leonard and Ola Mae (Wears) McDaniel. He was preceded in death by two sons, Tom and Paul, three daughters , Kathy,  Brenda and an infant daughter, five  brothers, Clarence (Jones), Albert (Bill), Dale(Buster), Ralph and Boyd (Short) McDaniel, as well as seven sisters, Bessie L. Hudson, Patty L. Hudson, Loretta L. 'Sis' Rogers, Ruth K. Bush, Peggy Edwards, Alice F. and Shirley S. McDaniel.  

In addition to his wife, surviving are three sons, Perry (Connie) Ray (Lisa) and Ron (Brenda) Livingston of Point Pleasant, two daughters Melissa McDaniel, Indiana and Cindy (Greg) Good of Florida, brother Tom McDaniel along with several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  

When Rankin wasn’t working on his antique autos or cycles, he was always ready to pick up a guitar, sing a song and fellowship with friends. He also enjoyed singing with multiple local bands.  He was retired from the CSX railroad. 

There will be a graveside service for family and friends at 1 p.m., Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Kirkland Memorial Gardens, Point Pleasant, WV with Pastor Mike Finnicum officiating.
