Roberta McBride Robinson Obituary

Roberta L. McBride Robinson was born on August 15th, 1935 to the late Martha and Robert C. Gilmore in Brooklyn, New York. 


Roberta was educated in the New York City Public School System where she attended Erasmus High School and later graduated from Brooklyn College where she received her Bachelor of Arts.


Roberta married the late Clarence McBride and from this union they were blessed with four children: Adrienne, Leslie, Lawrence and Ada. Roberta was blessed to find love again when she met and married the late Albert Robinson.


 Roberta was a very loving woman who loved to read fiction novels reading over 300 books. Roberta’s favorite author was James Patterson. She sang in the choir at Mount Sinai Baptist Church as well as the choir at Fort Greene Senior Center where she was also a member, 


Roberta loved to travel and spend time with her 17 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Roberta worked over 30 years as a Center Director for the New York City Human Resources Administration where she received awards for outstanding achievement and public service for the City of New York.


Roberta was preceded in death by one daughter: Adrienne, one granddaughter; Shawntee McBride, 2 great great grandchildren; Trequan Lawrence Wingfield and Chantel Kelis Wingfield.


Roberta leaves to cherish her loving memories: her children; Leslie, Lawrence and Ada, her grandchildren; Marie, Jenaya, Lamar, Shakira Catreena, and Shannon, 17 grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, 2 sisters; Rassie and Renee, 6 brothers; Robert Jr. (Bobby), Randy, Ronald, Frederick, Johnathan and Kenneth and numerous other family members and friends.
