Anthony Rogers Obituary

New Iberia, LA. - Anthony James Rogers, 21, who left this world far too soon on August 25,2025 was a beloved son, brother, nephew, devoted friend, and passionate mechanic, Anthony's life was marked by his unyielding love for people and the joy he took in helping those around him.

Family, friends, and community members are invited to pay their respects during the viewing and Rosary services on September 2, 2025, at Fields Funeral Home; 712 Center Street-New Iberia, LA. between 4:00 PM and 9:00 PM. Visitation will take place at the St. Peter Catholic Church; 108 E. St. Peter Street-New Iberia, LA. on September 3, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, culminating with a heartfelt funeral service at 11:00 AM. Anthony will then be laid to rest at Holy Family Cemetery at 12:30 PM, where he will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved him.

Anthony James Rogers made his grand entrance on July 12, 2004, with club feet, and from his very first day, he faced adversity head-on. Yet, he never allowed hardship to define him. He was known to have an old soul in a young body. Instead, he lived with determination, strength, and a quiet courage that inspired all who knew him.

An enthusiastic learner, Anthony's educational journey was a graduate of Centerville High School, where he played football and was known as "Bush-Hogg". His post high school education was at SLCC Morgan City, where he immersed himself in Industrial Marine Technology. His keen intelligence was matched only by his compassionate heart, as he dedicated his time to making a difference in the lives of others. Whether he was working on cars, crafting music that resonated with his spirit, or simply sharing a moment playing cards with his grandfather, Anthony's laughter and kindness brought warmth into the lives he touched.

His hobbies reflected his vibrant personality; from traveling and exploring new adventures to relishing the thrill of football and immersing himself in the captivating world of anime. He formed connections through his shared interests, whether it was discussing the latest electronics or exchanging strategies while playing bay blades. He could take something broken and bring it back to life, much like the way he lifted the spirts of those around him. His talents were only matched by his generosity. He had a huge heart; he was truly a giant teddy bear. Anthony's genuine nature and infectiously positive energy made him a go-to person for counsel, as he always took the time to listen and provide support. He was the kind of person who would give the shirt off of his back to anyone in need. Anthony never hesitated to go without if it meant someone else could have a little more. His love was not in words alone, but in the countless sacrifices he made, day after day.

Anthony is survived by his loving Mama, Christina M. Istre, two (2) brothers: Trevor Rogers (Lanie) and Adonis Broussard; his grandfather: Roaul Rogers; his grandmother: Irene Istre; two (2) uncles: Donald Istre and Randy Istre; five (5) aunts: Monica (Lynn) Chatagnier, Regina (Floyd) Christian, Wanda (Tim) Lamp, Cheryl (Colby) Gibbons, and Bridget (Joshua) Chou; 3 Special Nannies: Jessica Pitre, Susan Domingue, and Tasha Louis; and many other relatives and friends who will forever hold his memory dear to their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his father Randall Anthony Rogers, his maternal grandfather: Murphy Istre; and his paternal grandmother: Christine D. Rogers.

A memorable feature of Anthony’s character was his favorite word – “TOODLES” – a cheerful farewell that exemplified his lighthearted view of life. As he embarks on this final journey, we can envision him greeting each encounter with his unforgettable spirit and offering the same warmth and compassion he shared throughout his life.

Active Pallbearers: Trevor Rogers, Auston McElroy, Ronald Trahan, Chris Carr, Jason Melancon, Cole CoCo, Randy Istre, and Alexander Chatagnier
