Terry Burcham Obituary

Terry N. Burcham
April 12, 1950 – July 15, 2025

Terry N. Burcham, age 75, passed away peacefully at his home in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on July 15, 2025. Born on April 12, 1950, in Tulsa, Terry lived a life grounded in love for his family, dedication to his work, and a lifelong passion for golf.

He is survived by his children: Wink Burcham and wife Sam of Tulsa; Brooke Neighbors and husband Shane; Alicia Wahl of Bixby; and Tawnya Hayward and husband Marty of Sand Springs. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Elizabeth, Ethan, Grant, Corbin, Natasha, Kingston, Ryland, Audrey, Jude, Blake, and Bo.

Terry is also survived by his brother Jim Burcham and wife Connie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Winford J.L. and Irene Burcham; his sister, Mary Francis; and his brother, Jeffrey Lynn.

Terry was formerly married to Deborah Lynn, with whom he shared many meaningful years. Though life took them down different paths, she remained the love of his life—a connection he deeply valued throughout his days.

Terry proudly served his country as a medic in the United States Army National Guard, where he cared for others with the same calm strength and compassion he showed throughout his life.

Professionally, Terry was a gifted and respected golf professional who served at several esteemed country clubs, including Muskogee Country Club, Meadowbrook Country Club, and Cedar Ridge Country Club. He earned international recognition for his contributions to professional scoreboarding within the PGA, leaving a lasting mark on the sport he loved.

In 1989, Terry began his one-man professional golf scoring business. His schedule included events on the Senior PGA Tour, The International on the PGA Tour, American Junior Golf Association events, NCAA tournaments, and numerous championships with the Oklahoma Golf Association. His precision and dedication elevated the standard for tournament scoring, and his reputation earned him the respect of golf professionals across the country.

Outside of work, Terry found peace in fishing and joy in playing golf. Above all, he cherished his role as “Papa,” and the time spent with his grandchildren brought him immeasurable happiness.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 18th at 2:00 p.m. at Traditions Funeral Home, located at 35 Main Street, Kellyville, OK 74039, where family and friends will gather to honor a man whose quiet strength, humble spirit, and deep love for family touched the lives of all who knew him.

Though we miss him dearly, we take comfort in knowing that Terry has now made the turn and is enjoying the back nine—with smooth fairways, clear skies, and peace at last.

What a great guy and joy to visit with. He was always so kind with his words and I always enjoyed when he’d come out to the shows I was playing with Wink over the years. I’m sure gonna miss his face in the crowd and getting to visit with him. Rest in Peace, my friend.

He was a dear and special friend in high school. A wonderful person and I know his family will miss him dearly. I am so sad to hear about his passing and we reconnected on Facebook after all these years. He gave me a beautiful book of poetry that I always cherished. Rest in peace my friend.

So sad for the loss of my uncle Terry. I always loved his humor. I could hear and feel his smile when we talked as I am sure he hear and feel mine as well. He was such a good person and could make me laugh. Love you Uncle Terry. I will forever have you in my heart and carry your presence with me daily.

It was truly a privilege to know Terry. He was always a great friend of mine and my family for many years. We enjoyed golf together but, mostly enjoyed listening to each other and appreciating life’s opportunities. I’m so thankful our last conversation was about his “next” life. He truly anticipated his homecoming. Love to all of you and hope for great lasting memories of my friend.
