Wesley G. Ellis, Sr., 94, passed away on August 13, 2025, in Marshall, Texas. He was born to John H. Ellis, Sr. and Adele York Ellis on December 4, 1930.
He was a graduate of Marshall High School and the University of North Texas. He also served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He married Nancy Cook in 1958.
He worked for many decades in the manufacturing division of his family's business, Marshall Pottery. He enjoyed spending his time fishing, learning about World War II Military Aircraft and studying the history of ceramics in East Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John H. Sr. and Adele Ellis; his brother, John H. Ellis, Jr.; his sister, Carolyn Williams and his wife, Nancy.
He is survived by his children, Eve Ellis, Galen Ellis and Ann Shigley; four grandchildren, Lacy Vaughan, Robyn Minatrea, Michael Shigley and Aiden Shigley and eight great grandchildren along with other family and friends.
