Wilma May Obituary

Wilma May, 75 of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at the Good Samaritan Society of Le Mars. 

Funeral Service will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 31, 2025 at Rexwinkel Funeral Home of Le Mars. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens in rural Le Mars. Visitation with the family present will begin at 10:00 a.m. Thursday morning at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be expressed to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com.

Wilma was born on February 5, 1950 in Sioux City, Iowa to Louis and Alice (Schoen) May. She was raised in Le Mars and attended Le Mars Community schools. Wilma became a resident of Plymouth Life, later renamed as The Pride Group, in Le Mars. She worked in their activity center until she retired in 2016. She also moved into her own independent apartment for about 20 years before moving to the Good Samaritan Society of Le Mars.

Wilma took several cruises and bus trips while she was a resident of the Price Group. She enjoyed watching older TV shows, working on word search puzzle books, and she loved to collect pens!

Wilma is survived by her sister, Lois Ohlendorf of Le Mars and her family: a son, Eric (Jamie) Ohlendorf and their children: Caraline, Lauren, and Lila; a daughter, Kate (Sam) Larson and their children: Henry and Mae; a step daughter,  Lisa (Jeff) Terwilleger and their children: Ashley (Phillip) and their three children, Noah (Candice) and their two children, and Sophia (Seth); a step daughter: Teresa Czarnecki and her children: Corey (Emilie) and their three children, George, Sam, and Abigale; and other extended relatives.

Wilma is preceded in death by her parents, and brother in law, David Ohlendorf.
