Milan Dujnic Obituary

In Loving Memory of Milan "Mel" Valentine Dujnic Milan "Mel" Valentine Dujnic, 90, of Mesa, Arizona, passed peacefully surrounded by family on June 24, 2025, leaving behind a life story brimming with devotion, adventure, and deep compassion. Born in Manhattan, New York, on July 27, 1934, Mel graduated from Memorial High School in 1952, where he stood out as an All-State football player-his grit and energy apparent even then. Mel served his country as a Naval Reservist as well as doing a stint with the United States Army. Mel's early years were a testament to his perseverance. He began by shining shoes and working as a bowling pin setter at a young age, and his talents led him to work for Steinway & Sons (Pianos), where he tuned pianos and organs with finesse, blending technical skill with a love for music. He landed his permanent job in 1958 with Perkin Elmer utilizing his newly gained skills from the RCA Institute as an Electronic Engineer. On May 28, 1958, Mel married the love of his life, Marjorie H. Maxwell, after a two-year courtship sparked at a dance hall in New Haven, Connecticut-a classic love story full of charm and grace. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Terry and Mark, creating a home filled with laughter, warmth, and unforgettable memories. Mel's doors were always open to family and friends, his generous spirit inviting everyone into his orbit. A true outdoor enthusiast, Mel embraced camping, skiing, fishing, golf, tennis, and volleyball. His passion extended to arts, collecting elegant paintings and statues, and he had a special affection for lighthouses, reflecting his love for the sea and solitude which he found on many summer vacations in Montauk, Long Island. Spiritually grounded, he was a firm believer in God and a quiet champion of world peace and planetary stability-always praying for others with a heart full of empathy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albina and Valentine Dujnic. He was survived by; his son Mark and wife Jessica Dujnic; grandchildren Dusty Chandler, Star and Devin Dujnic; as well as his daughter Terry, and granddaughters Holly and Karinne Feher, in addition to his great grandchildren. He was also survived by his sister Eileen Kruger, godson and nephew Brian, and brother Sean Kruger. Mel's legacy is one of love, resilience, and connection. His kindness, curiosity, and devotion to family and faith will continue to inspire all who knew him. Milan will be laid to rest at Mt. View Funeral Home and Cemetery in the Desert Star Mausoleum in Mesa, AZ.
