Olive Wallace Obituary

Olive Arlene Wallace passed away peacefully on December 27, 2024. Olive was born on June 25, 1930, in McIntosh, Minnesota. Her parents were Tom and Ella Torgrimson. She had three brothers and four sisters. The family moved to Seattle, Washington in 1941.

Olive met Lee Allan Wallace at Seattle Pacific College, and they were married in 1953. Lee and Olive both became educators.

They had three daughters, ages 1, 2, and 3, when they moved to South Naknek, Alaska. Their fourth child, a son, was born in Alaska. They moved back to Seattle where their fifth child, a daughter, was born.

They moved to Camarillo, California where they lived for over 20 years.

In 1988 they decided to retire and they moved to Roseburg, Oregon in 1989 and then to Sweet Home, Oregon in 1991.

In Sweet Home, Olive and Lee worked together as volunteers at Meals on Wheels to deliver meals to seniors. They attended Hillside Fellowship Church, a short walk from their home. Olive honed her dried flower card making and calligraphy skills and made cards and other crafts that were sold at a local store to raise money for the homeless. They enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren and great grandchildren and Olive shared her love of doing crafts and making cards along with crochet and baking.

Olive was preceded in death by her husband, her son, her sisters, and two of her three brothers. She is survived by her youngest brother, her daughters, five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

We will miss Olive - her hugs, her friendship, her love. We rejoice in knowing that she is with her Precious Saviour Jesus and is happy in His presence.

May God bless us all as we travel the days ahead without her.
