Wanda Duncan Obituary

Wanda B. Duncan, of Lacombe, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at her home on July 11, 2025, at the age of 86. Born in Abbeville, MS, Wanda lived in multiple cities across the country throughout her life before settling in Lacombe, LA. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Glynn, and her brother, Jerry. She is survived by her siblings, Ron and Ginny; her two children, Michael (LoAnn)and Donna; her six grandchildren, Angie (Pete), Christie (John), Chad, Hannah (James), Shelby, and Noah; and her great-grandchildren, Shane, Adelyn, Nicholas, Savannah, Jay, and Hunter. Known to most as simply "Grandma," Wanda was a member of Redemption Church in Lacombe. She had a passion and skill for sewing doll clothes, which she showered generously on the children of family, friends, and even strangers. This year, she worked diligently to send many doll clothes with her church's mission team to Guatemala so that the girls there could receive a special gift. She also enjoyed embroidery and quilting. Grandma rarely missed a night of studying her Bible, and she was an avid reader of novels. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the St. Joseph Hospice team for their compassionate assistance. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Wanda's life at Redemption Church located at 62060 Hwy 434, Lacombe, LA 70445 on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 beginning at 10:00 a.m. Visitation with the family will begin at 9:30 a.m. If anyone would wish to send flowers, they should be directed to the church address.
