Gerald Beckley Obituary
Born January 23, 1942, in Huntington, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Gerald and Fern Beckley. He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Dee Beckley, his son Jerry Alan Beckley, and his granddaughter Angel. He was a retired Speech and Hearing Therapist and Pathologist from the Athens City School and the Nelsonville-York City School Districts.
He is survived by his Brother Bob (Von) Beckley and Sister Crystal (Kenny) Bussart, Brother-in-law Dan (Nancy) Tidrick and Don (Janet) Tidrick; children Julie Tipton (Roger), Jenny Beckley-Watson (Russ), Jason Beckley (Julia); daughter-in-law Nikkie Beckley; grandchildren Christopher (Faith), Hannah (Gavin), Jazmyn, Nicholas (Emma), Jacquelyn, Elizabeth (Colton), Joshua, Jeremy, Alyssa, Madison, Mollie, Colin, Ronan; great-grandsons Lincoln and Hudson; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He spent his life dedicated to his family and could often be found watching his children and grandchildren's extracurricular activities. He was an avid collector of antiques and historical artifacts and enjoyed mountain biking and golfing. For years, he was a supporter of the community as a volunteer firefighter, being actively involved in the Indian Mound Festival, and doing presentations in many classrooms teaching about artifacts he had collected.
On June 14th, 2025, at 1:00 pm, there will be a memorial service at The Plains United Methodist Church, 3 North Plains Road, The Plains, Oh. 45780. My deepest sympathy to the Beckley family. I shared a room with Jerry when we worked together at Nelsonville-York Elementary. He was a kind and thoughtful man. I know he will be missed by many. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.
