Sandra Glab-Lake Obituary

Haydenville Sandra Arlene Glab-Lake, an amazingly talented, unconditional loving, strong willed woman passed away January 13th, 2025 just weeks prior to her birthday, after having prolonged health issues.

Born January 25th, 1941 to John Lewis Glab, and Grace Elizabeth Lewis-Glab, their only child. She was delivered in her Grandmother and Grandfather's, Ethel Robinette-Lewis and Frank Lewis's house next door which eventually became her home to raise her and also deceased, William Russell Lake's two children, survived by Lori Danielle Lake, and Sean Robin Lake.

Graduating from Chauncey High School, she went on to Ohio University to study Music Education where she graduated. She was a member of the Ohio University Marching band playing saxophone, her instrument of choice. However, she was capable of playing many instruments and continued to learn others.

She pursued her music career after graduating from Ohio University. Starting in Zanesville, Ohio, where she continued to inspire many to love music. She taught at a couple other schools, however after a few years, in 1980 she left to teach as an elementary school music teacher at Chauncey Elementary School, the same high school building that she had attended and graduated from years earlier, also closer to home.

She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, now Community of Christ, from a young age, and throughout her life. She even used her musical talents of directing music choirs, as well as playing piano for services.

She had many talents other than music, including an avid writer since she was a young girl and continued writing throughout her lifetime. She also shared a love of painting with her mother, also a talented artist. They both created many masterpieces throughout their lives.

She retired from the Athens City School System in 1999. She invested her time and money into her daughter's uniform store, Unicorn Uniforms, where she eventually fully retired. After the deaths of her mother (2007), father (2009), and eventually her husband (2014), she sold the family farm, and moved to Haydenville, Ohio and lived with her daughter the remainder of her life.

Although her sage advice, warm hugs, smiles and laughs will be greatly missed, Mom is now with her family, at peace, and no longer in pain, and making beautiful music.

There will be no services, consider a gift to Best Friends Animal Society.

Arrangements are through the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St, Nelsonville.
