Guyla Clayton Obituary

Guyla Clayton March 14, 1947 - December 23, 2024 Leona Valley - With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Guyla Jean Clayton, who left this world on December 23, 2024, at the age of 77. Born on March 14, 1947, in Los Angeles, CA, Guyla later made her home in Leona Valley, CA, where she became a cherished member of the community. Guyla was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard John Rowland (1980), and her second husband, Richard "Max" Clayton (2017). She is survived by her beloved children, David Rowland Clayton (Bob Nimesgern) and Sarah Rowland Clayton, as well as her stepdaughters, Ramona Clayton and Amelia Fischer. A woman of unwavering faith, Guyla was a devoted follower of Jesus and deeply involved in her local church and community. Her kindness, generosity, and love touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be dearly missed, but her legacy of love and faith will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Services to honor and celebrate Guyla's life will be announced at a later date.

Guyla was a Jesus-loving force of nature, strong willed and even greater strength of character, and the most important woman to our family; mom, grandma, auntie, friend, mentor, you name it, she filled that role for us, without fail. Through births, deaths, graduations, illnesses, moves...you name it she was there, and she will always be part of our family. Since 1994, her love, generosity, wisdom, nurturing and prayers never faltered for our family. We love and miss her tremendously. We know Guyla is walking with Jesus and that brings us joy; a bittersweet joy but also a hopeful joy, that we'll be reunited some day. Love you mom.

Guyla brought love, admiration, faith and purpose into our Dad's, Max's, life in a time of uncertainty and unpredictability.
They formed a great team as parents, as role models in their community and as strong supports for each other in life's ups and downs. Guyla's devotion and respect in caring for Max throughout his many years of declining health helped create value in the lives of those touched by her generosity.

Guyla is as one of the most loving and fundamental people when we moved to LV. We were a controversial foster family. But not to Max and Guyla. They welcomed us and our kids with open arms and no judgment. It was the breath of fresh air we needed.

Guyla was such a light at a pivotal time of us being young and married. Welcomed in her home for Bible study, seeing her smile and hearing her voice brought joy. Her exuberance about her Savior made me want to be like Guyla what I grow up. We are 53 and 57 now. The last time I saw Guyla was in 2002, sharing her contagious joy with all around her. Love that she is with Jesus now.
Phil 1:21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. Condolences to you all Hugs, Chris and Melinda Villarreal

When I first moved to Leona Valley in 2005, Guyla was the first lady friend to greet me with the presentation of a very special "Welcome Book" that guided me to everything I needed to know about my new surroundings. I was on my riding mower and she was standing in my breeze way hollering my name to stop the mower. I did, we hugged and introduced ourselves and she handed me the guide to our beautiful community. I loved spending time with her in our church nursery as she continued to mentor me in so many ways. Guyla will always be considered a woman of truth, love and warmth ~~~~~ she IS and will always be, our community leader and I will always say "good morning to her" and ask "what's on the agenda" for today. And, Guyla will smile and say to me " get your running shoes on, lady, because you have a bizzzzy day. I miss her dearly, but know that SHE is surrounding each of us 24/7 as our pied piper. Granny Jan can see you xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
