I am so saddened to see this news. I have been away from Flagstaff for a long time, but I will always remember Mary Lou. I was going to school and working full time as a single parent. I would receive anonymous money orders in my mail every month for several months for $100. I found out it was her, quite by accident. I had lent her a tape to listen to and she gave it back to me with her comments. She misspelled my name in an unusual manner. The money orders were also mispelled the same way. She was an angel. I will never forget her generosity.
Condolences to all who knew and loved her.

When my mom introduced me to ML, my life was almost immediately richer. What a beautiful, curious, caring, delightful, generous person ML was, who enhanced our lives with her friendship.

As a child growing up at the observatory, I have many fond memories of Mary Lou. She always had a dish of candy on her work desk that I would help myself to. :) She was a very comfortable and kind presence.

Mary Lou, you will be missed more than you know. I was so lucky to have you in my life first when we were kids in Rock Creek, later when we reconnected when I visited you over the years in Flagstaff, and then when Peter and I moved to Sedona. God bless you.

My dear friend "M-Lou", I am deeply saddened to read of your passing. You brought so much joy to so many through your beautiful stitchery and your ever present kindness and enthusiasm which you so generously shared with everyone. My life is so much richer because I knew you in Flagstaff! You are a blessing!!!

We miss you so very much, Mary Lou! As you liked to say, always with a laugh, that I was your "favorite goddaughter" because I was your only godchild. :) You were such a blessing in our lives and we are just so thankful for all the love you brought to us. ~ August, Karl, Collette and of course your actual favorite, Duke the golden retriever
