MICHAEL WARREN STRONG

September 2, 1947 – April 12, 2025

California City – Michael Warren Strong was born to Frank and Luella Strong on September 2, 1947 at Kern General Hospital in Bakersfield, California. Mike passed away on April 12, 2025 at his home in California City, CA. He graduated from South High School in 1965 and from California State University Bakersfield in 1971. Mike started his career in electronics while attending college. He went on to pursue a career in real estate, land development, residential, commercial and industrial construction in Bakersfield, California City and Ridgecrest.

Mike was proud of his many accomplishments including playing world class soft ball, 1983 Bakersfield Board of Realtor salesperson of the year, received certificates of recognition for his contribution of the quality of life, exemplary leadership and outstanding service to the community of California City from the State Senate and State Assembly of the State of California and Special Congressional Recognition as a member of the California City Economic Development Corp.

Mike sponsored the High Desert Pro-Am tournament in California City for 29 years. He enjoyed playing golf and had the opportunity to play many world class golf courses.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Luella Strong and sister Patricia Caetano. He is survived by his wife, Cathy; daughter, Michelle Waddell; grandson, Grayson Waddell, granddaughters, Riley Waddell and Peyton Waddell. Stepson, Gary Marsh and granddaughter, Emily Marsh; nephews Brent Harris, Kevin Harris, James Ferris and wife Sandy and niece Trisha Wright.
