Kimberly Lawson Obituary

Kimberly Briddell "Kim" Lawson, age 75, of Crisfield, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional.
Born in Crisfield on December 6, 1948, he was a son of the late Alfred James "Tut" Lawson, Jr. and Ruth Briddell Lawson.
Kim joined the healthcare team at the now TidalHealth Peninsula Regional in 1994 as a nurse and retired as nursing supervisor in 2013.
A dedicated volunteer who was extremely active in his community of Crisfield, he was a Charter Member, Past Captain, and Life Member of the Lower Somerset County Ambulance and Rescue Squad where he started as an EMT, then CRT, Paramedic and eventually became a Registered Nurse. Kim served as a Crisfield City Councilman for terms 1990-1994, 2006-2010, and 2010-2014, and was elected Mayor in 2014 serving until 2018. He was the driving force for the creation of the Crisfield Park Committee in 2010, serving as Chairman for many years and was instrumental in the writing of and successful award of grants that were responsible for the park, playground and walking trail on Collins Street.
He was also involved in the Crisfield Chamber of Commerce, Crisfield Heritage Foundation, and numerous other agencies that promoted the city he loved.
He is survived by his wife, Tillie A. Doyle; daughter, Sheri Lawson; sister, Kathy Lawson Dryden; several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and special friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, AJ Lawson, III and Charles Keith Lawson.
Interment will be private in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
A celebration of his life will be Thursday, November 21, 2024 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home.
