Sending Condolences to Glenn Schaefer´s family. He was a great high school counselor. He helped me choose a career I kept for 30 years. Reading his obituary, it sounds like he gave so much in his lifetime, beyond being a school guidance counselor.

My name is Jolla Robinson. I was a student of Mr Schaefer back in 1981. I needed a 2.0 grade point average to accept a scholarship to play division one football at eastern Illinois university along with bill Hatfield. Mr Schaefer allowed me to do some extra work to move my grades from a c to b. By this one act of kindness he planted a seed to a first generation college graduate. I play both football and basketball in college. Graduated with two associates degrees, bachelor´s and a master´s in education. I started the first workforce education program in the State of Arkansas. My program has affected over 30,000 people in helping increase their academic skill. I just finished my 33 years in education. I´m very proud of what I have been apart of. All that I have accomplished I owe to Mr. Schaefer one act of kindness. God bless him and his family.

My deepest sympathy to Glenn's family. Schaefer was my guidance counselor, psychology teacher and bus driver when I went to Freeburg. Had a lot of fun times especially on the St. Libory bus route. Ran into him a lot after high school as well. He will be missed but not forgotten.

So sad for the loss of Glenn, my thoughts and prayers with his family and friends. Glenn was the guidance counselor when I went to Freeburg High School and was always there for anyone who wanted to talk. And he was my sister Elaine´s brother in law. I know he will be missed.
