Redmon O'Neill Obituary

Redmon L. O'Neill, 76, of Van Buren, Arkansas, died on April 12, 2024, at Baptist Health in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Redmon was born March 15, 1948, in Monticello, Arkansas. He was the third son of John Edward Lee O'Neill and Mildred Hayes O'Neill. He attended Monticello High and graduated on May 22, 1966. He attended the Arkansas Agricultural and Mechanical College in Monticello, graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration in General Business and a minor Economics on May 31, 1970. He served his country as a part of the Army National Guard from 1970 to 1976, being honorably discharged on May 6, 1976, as a grade SSG.

He married Jan M. Blakeman on March 22, 1974. Redmon worked from age 16, putting himself through college. He worked for the Southern Farmers Co-Op in various locations in Southern Arkansas in management positions. He then went to work for Monark Boat Company in Monticello as Human Resources Director. Later, he moved to Flippin, Arkansas and become the Human Resources Manager for Ranger Boats. He ended his working career with USA Truck in Van Buren, Arkansas in the Human Resources Department. He retired from working at 66.

Redmon was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, William Robert O'Neill and John Lee O'Neill. Surviving him is his wife, Jan (Blakeman) O'Neill of the home; a daughter, Valarie Ann (Jeffery) O'Neill Hayes of Gassville, Arkansas. Also surviving are his two grandsons, Garrett Wade Hayes and Colton Blake Hayes, Both of Gassville, Arkansas.
