Dennis L. "Denny" Rose

November 3, 1947 - August 30, 2025

Dennis L. "Denny" Rose 77, of Decatur, Illinois, formerly of Argenta, Illinois, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2025.

Denny was born November 3, 1947, in Decatur, Illinois, the son of Jack and Alberta (Lowery) Rose. Having lived most of his life in Argenta, his retirement let him enjoy thirteen years in Ft. Myers and Lecanto, Florida, doing what he loved best – Fishing!

Denny retired after thirty-eight years as a Union Heavy Equipment Operator with IUOE Local #841.

Denny married Linda Wethington in 1968, and although life took them in different directions, twenty-seven years later they remarried in 1997. She survives.

He also leaves his sons, Jeffery Rose (Belinda) of Argenta, and Patrick Rose (Jennifer) of Ft. Benton, Mont.; grandsons, Zachary Rose of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Blake Rose of Argenta, and Karsyn Rose of Ft. Benton, Mont.; brother, Larry Rose (Sharon) of Argenta; three nieces; and two great-nieces.

Denny was preceded in death by his parents; and one great-nephew.

In keeping with Denny's wishes, cremation rites were accorded. A private family graveside service will be held in Friends Creek Cemetery, Argenta. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date in Argenta. Calvert & Wikoff North Chapel is assisting the family with services. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
