Virginia Cosner Obituary

Virginia White “Ms. Jenny” Cosner, 78, of 837 Simpson Ditch Road, passed away Monday, March 10, 2025, in her home where she was being cared for by family.

Ms. Jenny was born in Pasquotank County on September 15, 1946, and was the daughter of the late Dempsey Joseph “D.J.” and Mildred Webb “Monk” White. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Guy Thomas “Big Tom” White and Carson Lee “Kit” White.

Employed for many years as a photographer with Jones & Presnell Studios where she had an opportunity to travel and visit different areas, she later owned and operated Wee Care Day Care and lastly retired as a Sergeant from the NC Department of Corrections. She was a member of both New Hope Church and the Inter-County Ruritan Club.

Surviving are her two daughters, Rebecca Ward and husband Jeffrey and Jodie Cosner; three grandchildren, Lewis Bradford Taylor III (whom she raised) and wife Marina, Abigail Davenport and Dustin Davenport; and six great-grandchildren, Lewis “Bug” Taylor IV, Lina Taylor, Landon Taylor, Athena White, Kairi-Lee Gibbs, and Matthew Thigpen.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 3:00 p.m. in New Hope Church and will be conducted by the Rev. Carroll Bundy and Layman Lee Humphlett. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may visit the family in the church the hour prior to the services on Friday.
