Edward Stoll Obituary

Edward Paul Stoll, 74, of Cascade, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, June 19th, 2025, at Pinicon Senior Living in Anamosa, surrounded by family.
Born on July 4th, 1950, in Cascade, Iowa, son of Loras and Dola (Till) Stoll. He received his education at Monticello High School followed by Kirkwood Community College. On July 6, 1973, he was united in marriage to Margaret Turnis at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fillmore, Iowa. The couple farmed in the Fillmore area until their retirement. Ed was also a correctional officer at Anamosa State Penitentiary for 15 years.
Ed lived a life rooted in humility, hard work, and a deep devotion to his faith and family. Known for his quick wit and infectious sense of humor, he had a special gift for bringing joy to those around him. Ed found happiness in simple pleasures-playing cards, cheering on his favorite football teams, swimming in his pond, and sharing laughter with loved ones. He remained active throughout his life, enjoying pickleball, biking, walking, and swimming. A dedicated community member, Ed served as a baseball and softball coach and was involved with Sacred Heart Parish and Pheasants Forever. In addition to farming his own land, he took pride in custom farming for neighbors, often lending a hand where it was needed most. Always up for a scenic drive in his Shelby, Ed rarely missed a chance to stop for ice cream along the way. That was a no brainer.
Ed is survived by his loving wife, Margie Stoll of Cascade; his children, Jason (Amy) Stoll of Lost Nation, Missy (Bill Valka) Stoll of Alburnett, Kelly (Dave) Brown/Gross of Johnston and grandchildren Briana, Tanner, Kalie, Nathan and Jacob Stoll, Carson and Cael Brown. His siblings Pat (Jeanne) Stoll, Jim (Kim) Stoll, Tom (Evelyn) Stoll, Jane (Skeeter) Steger, Lois (Dale) Andrews, Robert (Linda) Stoll, Julie (Tom) Weiler, Alan Stoll, and Ruth (Donnie) Ungs. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends.
After courageously battling Parkinson's with Lewi Body Dementia, Ed is now at peace. He will be welcomed with open arms into heaven by his daughter Becky, brothers John and Jeff, his nephew Josh, his parents and so many more. His legacy of love, laughter and hard work will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Visitation for Ed will be held from 9:00 AM till 12:00 PM on Saturday July 5th, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic church in Fillmore, Iowa. The memorial service for Ed will follow at noon with Rev. Mark Osterhaus presiding. A private burial will be held at a later date.
A special thank you to Hospice of Dubuque, Moments Hospice of Hiawatha and Pinicon Place in Anamosa for their gentle care and compassion for dad in his last weeks of life.
