Wayne Marlow Obituary

INDEPENDENCE – Wayne A. Marlow, 77, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the Independence Rehabilitation Center in Independence, Iowa, after a courageous battle with cancer.
A Funeral Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, July 18, at the St. Agnes Plymouth Rock Church, 2875 County Road A18, Cresco, Iowa. Inurnment will be held in the Burr Oak Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held after the service at Kessell Park Lodge 268, 7th Ave West, Cresco, Iowa. The Reiff Family Center – Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
Wayne currently resided near Quasqueton, IA, but spent most of his adult life in the Cedar Rapids area. He grew up in the Burr Oak, IA Area. In 1966, Wayne graduated from North Winneshiek High School. He attended catechism at St. Agnes Church Plymouth Rock.
Wayne was the second born child to Walter and Kathy (Sharp) Marlow. In 1969, he married the love of his life, Karen Kleiboer. In May they celebrated their 56th anniversary.
Wayne worked at Rockwell Goss for thirty-two years, until it closed in 2002. He loved mowing even after the loss of his toe, red and green tractors, auctions, playing cards and family shoot outs at the farm.
Wayne and Karen spent their retired years as "Winter Texans." Mission, TX, is where they escaped the Iowa winters and spent time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Quasqueton, IA, his daughter, Paula (Ron) Triebsch, Columbia, MO, two grandchildren, Amber Giesler, Columbia, MO, and Cooper (Bridgette) Triebsch, Marshall, MO, and one great-granddaughter, Noelle, his siblings; Wanda Stanton, Fred (Patty) Marlow, Walt (Faye) Marlow, Mary (Scott) Logsdon, Jeff (Dawn) Marlow, and Amy (Brad) McConnell, a sister-in-law, Delores Donlan, and a brother-in-law, John Schatz, and several nieces and nephews.
Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Kathy Marlow, a son Kevin Marlow in 2022, two brothers, Christopher Marlow in infancy, and Chuck Marlow, a sister Dianne Schatz, and a nephew Tyler Marlow.
