Gary Meyers passed away peacefully Friday, Aug. 22, 2025, in the comfort of his beloved home. Gary's home was his sanctuary, a place where he found immense joy and solace. He often spoke about how much he cherished the memories created within its walls and the sense of peace it brought him. His home was not just a place to live, but a reflection of his life's journey and the love he shared with his wife Mary and friends.
Born Jan. 11, 1948, in Kingston, Gary was known for his unwavering positivity and ability to see the good in people. He touched many lives with his infectious happiness and generous spirit. Gary had a remarkable ability to uplift those around him, always finding a silver lining in every situation. His optimism was contagious, and he inspired others to approach life with the same hopeful outlook. Whether it was through a kind word, a warm smile or a thoughtful gesture, Gary's positive attitude left a lasting impact on everyone he met.
Gary was a proud graduate of Kingston High School and Wilkes University. He had a distinguished career in the banking industry, where he was known for his dedication, integrity and exceptional leadership skills. Throughout his career, he held various positions that highlighted his expertise and commitment to excellence. Gary's ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues alike earned him a reputation as a trusted and respected professional in the field. His contributions to the banking industry were significant, and he left a lasting impact on those who had the privilege of working with him.
Gary proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. His dedication and bravery were recognized with numerous medals, including the prestigious Bronze Star. Throughout his service, Gary demonstrated unwavering commitment and courage, earning the respect and gratitude of his fellow soldiers. He was deeply touched by the many people who expressed their appreciation for his service when they saw him wearing his Vietnam veteran cap.
Gary was preceded in death by his father, William Meyers; and mother, Gertrude (Gibbon).
He is survived by his beloved wife and caregiver, Mary, who he often described as the love of his life. She will miss him dearly and cherish the countless memories they created together. Gary is also survived by his son, Christopher; daughter, Keri; and grandchildren.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at E. Blake Collins Funeral Home, 159 George Ave., Wilkes-Barre. Entombment will be in the mausoleum in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.

Great guy........ Was part of the "Chestnut St. Gang" which climbed the Seminary stadium fence to play pickup baseball or football. As a fellow Nam Vet, now you may rest in peace. "KHS 66" class will miss him, as well as the Kingston LL best team members. RIP............

Very sorry to hear of Gary's passing. At KHS we were fast friends and earlier teammates on arguably the best Little League team Kingston has ever seen. Great sense of humor and true character, he will be missed. RIP my friend.
