Francisco Flattes Obituary

Francisco Paul Flattes II, 56, of Hayesville, N.C., unexpectedly passed away Monday, June 30, 2025, as a result of a tragic incident while he was on duty as a detention transport officer with the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office.
He was the son of the late Francisco Paul Flattes I. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Abel James.
Francisco, Poppie, Cisco, Chico and friend, no matter the name he was known by, he made a lasting impression. The love he gave to each person he met was endless. Francisco came into our lives and changed it for the better. He encouraged, stood behind and made sure that his loved one's goals were achieved.
Francisco never met a stranger and never said no to giving a helping hand.
His love for his family is unmatched. Francisco's booming laugh will always be in our hearts. He loved to "bougie" in his words. The legacy he leaves behind is outstanding.
Francisco was an angel walking among us and left us too soon.
Francisco was a member of Carver Masonic Lodge No. 89 in Starke, Fla.
Francisco is survived by his wife, Tresia Long Flattes; children, Amanda Manning (Robert), Carolyn Hall (Joe), James Whitehead, Crystal Thomas, William Thomas (Jessica) and Donja Manning; grandchildren, Robert, Amelia, Wyatt, Colton, Shirley, Sarah, Lexi, Jeremiah, Jacob, Naomi, Aiden, Grace, Bonnie, June and Derrick; three sisters, Amanda Rizer, Michelle Everdeen and Angela Hollis; special cousin, Pam; one brother-in-law, John Long (Racheal); and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, at Tri-County Community College in the Enloe Building. The Rev. Alan Wildsmith will officiate. Masonic rites will be conducted by Cherokee Masonic Lodge No. 146. Pallbearers will be Sheriff Dustin Smith, Major Montgomery Ward, Captain Brian Smith, Lieutenant Octavio Aguero, Officer Cameron Campbell, Officer Devon Cutler, Corporal Anthony Strickland, Sgt. Daniel Tucker and Deputy Michael Webb.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, at Tri-County Community College in the Enloe Building.
