Jane Psota Obituary

JANE RAE KERBY PSOTA Jane Rae Kerby Psota was a gentle soul who navigated the challenges of life with a quiet dignity and a spirit that inspired all who knew her. Throughout her life, Jane exemplified what it meant to be selfless. Her ability to never complain was a testament to her incredible strength and resilience. Instead of focusing on her struggles, she devoted herself to uplifting others before entering the gates of heaven on February 4, 2025, at Morningside Center, Chillicothe, MO. Jane was born April 27,1950, in Carrollton, MO to parents Clifford W. Kerby and Grace Louise (Key) Kerby. From the very beginning, she was surrounded by the warmth and love of nurturing parents & five siblings. She grew up in a modest home in Coloma, MO also known as "The Tater Hills". These humble beginnings instilled in her a deep appreciation for the small comforts in life. At a very early age Jane accepted Jesus in her heart & became a member of the Coloma Baptist Church. She graduated from Tina-Avalon School in 1968 where she was a cheerleader & fostered special friendships that lasted her entire life. Jane met the love of her life, Gary, a country boy from Nebraska, in Denver, CO. They were married on March 1, 1970, at Coloma Baptist Church & she was a devoted wife for nearly 55 years. In the fall of 1973 Gary & Jane had the opportunity to purchase a home & some acreage in Bogard, MO that was on the same gravel road as her parents' farm. Jane's dream of raising three children in the country came true. She always felt blessed that three generations of LOVE were minutes apart. Jane was a stay-at-home Mother that poured her heart & soul into raising her children Richelle Renee, Sondi Lynn & Kerby Paul. She immersed herself in her children's ambitions and supported their endeavors. Jane was a well-known face at Tina-Avalon School as she enjoyed being a room mom, going on field trips & volunteering for PTO & she never missed an event or a game. Jane was not only a beloved mother, but also a cherished mother-in-law also acting as a trusted confidante and friend. Her ability to foster unity and understanding with her children and their spouses John, Troy and Amy was a testament to her compassionate nature and her belief in the power of love. As her children began their own families, her heart expanded even further to welcome her grandchildren Caylynn, Landon and Branson. Nana Jane became their biggest fan, anticipating every opportunity to attend their events, celebrate their milestones and revel in their achievements. Jane freely gave smiles, hugs & "I love you's". She adored her family & friends & her home was always open to them. Jane enjoyed the comfort of her chair with the love of her dogs curled upon her lap. She appreciated long phone calls with friends & family, quiet evenings at home with Gary or a chaotic house full of family. She found joy in cruising old gravel roads, listening to classic country music, lunch in town, yard sales, cheering for the KC Chiefs & Royals, drag races, car shows, vanilla Cokes & she loved to dance. Jane will forever by missed by her husband Gary Psota of the home, Bogard, MO; children Richelle Psota Kaiser (Troy), Littleton CO, Sondi Psota Abbott, (John), Hartwell, GA, Kerby Psota (Amy) Bogard, MO; grandchildren Caylynn McCormick (Aidan) Denver, CO, Landon Kaiser & Branson Kaiser both of Grand Junction, CO; sister Mary Kerby Francis (Bob), Bogard, MO; sister-in-laws Evelyn Kerby, Bogard, MO and Fair Grove, MO, Jean Kerby, Belle Plaine, KS and Darlene Psota, North Loup, NE; nieces & nephews include Lesa Brown, Bill Kieley, Rosie Parker, Rob Francis, Rhonda Reeter, LeAnn Pyatt, Dorothy Wooden, Mary Grace Hill, Tonya Kerby, Windy Bohannon, Kim Sweetser & Kristin Fletcher; several aunts, numerous cousins, multiple great nieces & nephews & many close friends.
