Carol Jarosz Obituary

Carol Ann Jarosz (nee Dukes), age 88 of Westlake, Ohio passed away Monday, July 7, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born May 26, 1937, to parents the late Alfred and Helen (nee Kaminski) Dukes in Cleveland, Ohio.
Carol grew up in Cleveland and was a 1955 graduate of John Marshall High School. She met Frederick Jarosz at the birthday party of her cousin, and they dated for the next five years while he completed his military service. Carol and Fred were married on May 21, 1960, and recently celebrated 65 years together. Growing up, Carol learned the value of hard work as she worked at Duke's Poultry, the wholesale store owned by her family on the Westside of Cleveland. She used these values when she went on to work for many years as a secretary for Lamport's Engineering firm.
Carol and Fred loved traveling together, having visited all 50 U.S. States and all ten Canadian Provinces as well as many international travels. She enjoyed hiking and backpacking, with New Zealand being the favorite place she ever hiked. While home from her many trips, Carol enjoyed playing board games and card games, and was very competitive. During retirement, she volunteered as a Red Coat in Playhouse Square, the Maltz Performing Arts Center, and the Habitat for Humanity Re-Store.
Carol is survived by her beloved husband Frederick Jarosz; loving son, John (Patti) Jarosz; cherished grandsons Austin (Tori), Hunter, and Mitchell Jarosz; and dear great-grandson Blaine. She was preceded in death by her son, James Jarosz and her parents, Alfred and Helen Dukes.

Family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, July 25, 2025 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ladislas Catholic Church, 2345 Basset Road, Westlake, OH 44145.
