Daniel Lawson Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Daniel George Lawson, age 76, who passed away on July 16, 2025. Born on April 11, 1949, in Cleveland, Ohio, Daniel lived a life filled with love, laughter, and a genuine passion for connecting with others. Daniel will be lovingly remembered by his children, Kathleen Lawson (Petar Tomic), Christopher Lawson (Juliana), and Elissa Lawson as well as his cherished grandchild, Jaidyn Tomic. He is also survived by his life partner of 12 years, Regina Whittington, and his siblings, Jamie, Kathleen, Barbara, and Thomas. Dan was proud of his extended family, including many nieces, nephews, and loyal friends who were fortunate to know his warm heart and kind spirit. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, James and Helen Lawson, and his brother Blaine. A proud veteran, Dan served honorably in the Navy, completing three tours during the Vietnam War. His service reflected his commitment to his country and his unwavering dedication to helping others. Dan's legacy lives on through his love of life-he was an avid golfer, a passionate foodie, and a devoted fan of Cleveland sports teams. He possessed an infectious joy for life, whether he was dancing with friends or sharing joy-filled moments with family. Dan had a unique gift for making everyone feel welcome; he truly never met a stranger. He was a long-time friend of Bill W. and Bob, offering mentorship and support to many, and tirelessly inspired those around him to be the best versions of themselves. We invite friends and family to gather in celebration of Dan's life. Visitation will take place on Thursday, July 24, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Monreal Srnick Funeral Home, 35400 Curtis Blvd, Eastlake, OH 44095. A Funeral Service will follow on Friday, July 25, 2025, at 12:00 PM also at the funeral home. Dan will be laid to rest with honors at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
