COLONIE - Phyllis Jean Kelley (Gifford), 92, passed away peacefully at her home, on April 19, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Phyllis was born in Pittstown, N.Y., to the late Ralph and Dorothy Jane (Newcomb) Gifford.
Phyllis graduated from Albany High in 1951. She worked at the New York Telephone Co., and was a dental assistant for many years. Phyllis was a past member of the Joseph E. Zaloga Post, and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Phyllis was on amazing mother to her four daughters. As her family grew, she loved attending her grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's activities. She loved anything "Family," especially Sunday dinners, holidays and all family gatherings. She loved listening to and telling old family stories.
Phyllis was predeceased by her high school sweetheart of 58 years, Robert Kelley; and her brother, Chester Gifford.
Phyllis is survived by her four loving daughters, Karen Flanagan (Michael), Cindy Rankin (the late Paul), Laurie Jones (Bill), and Pam Ronesi (Jeff); cherished grandchildren, Charlie (Tish), David (Micki) and Tim (Adriana) Flanagan, John (Patty) and Amy (Chris) Rankin, Kelley Murphy (David), Brian Jones (Laura), Dan (Holly) and Nikolas (Camille) Ronesi; adored great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Carleigh Flanagan, Gabriella and Tristan Murphy, Kylie and Mia Jones, Nikolas, Lucas, Elliot and Ben Ronesi.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Community Hospice, especially Stephanie Wilson and Eileen Fitzpatrick.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions in Phyllis' name can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project and Shriners Children's Hospital.
