Casper Kranenburg Obituary

Casper Kranenburg

Concord, NH - The world is a sadder place since Casper Kranenburg left it on July 2, 2025. Casper was born August 12, 1948 in The Hague, the Netherlands. When he was 20, he moved to New York City to work in travel and hospitality. This was his lifelong hobby and he made his career out of it.

In 1982, Cupid worked his magic and Casper met and fell in love with William Twibill and they started their happy life together. Many (including Casper and Bill) described it as love at first sight and it was. In 2015, they were finally legally married.

They both worked in the travel and hospitality industry and took full advantage of the perks of their industry. Throughout their years together, they enjoyed traveling the world and shared in discovering new, and some exotic, destinations.

In 2001 the life-long New Yorkers decided to retire someplace else other than the Big Apple. By some twist of fate, they discovered Havenwood Heritage Heights. In 2003 they moved to Havenwood Heritage Heights permanently and with no regrets.

Casper and Bill settled in well and both started volunteering in their new community. Casper served as president of the resident's association and on many other committees and groups. He is fondly remembered as the producer, co-director, and technical wizard of the world renown Pretty Good Talent Show. He and Bill also appeared in marketing materials for Havenwood Heritage Heights.

In Concord, Casper was an active member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and served many terms on the vestry, including as warden. You may also know him from his advice column (with Bill, of course) in the Concord Insider or when he and Bill brought down the house at Dancing with Concord Stars doing "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" from Spamalot.

Casper was a well-known auto enthusiast. He loved cars and loved driving them. The love affair started with an unlikely Citroen, which was so basic a model that the windshield wipers didn't work unless the wheels were rolling. He quickly moved on from there, driving gorgeous cars like Alfa Romeos. Casper also loved cats, a hearty meal (especially dessert), and sharing stories with those he loved.

Special thanks go to the Payson Cancer Care Center, especially Dr. diVenuti; all of the VNA staff; and, the caring and compassionate staff at Havenwood Heritage Heights. A celebration of life will be held Tad's Place, 149 E. Side Drive, Concord on July 23rd at 2pm. Think of Casper when you tell a good story, meet a new friend, or enjoy a cold beer.

In lieu of flowers, please make any donations to the SPCA in Concord or the Havenwood Heritage Heights Resident Support Fund.
