John Fletcher Obituary

John Allen Fletcher

Epsom, NH - We are beyond sad to share that our father, John Allen Fletcher is no longer here to share in our daily lives. Born April 28, 1935, he was blessed to have celebrated his 90th birthday in Florida with 4 of his 7 great-grandchildren present, saying that was the best birthday present ever. He passed on May 5, 2025. A native of Goffstown, New Hampshire, he proudly served in the United States Air Force, was a Vietnam Veteran, retiring as a Chief Master Sergeant after 23 years of service. He continued his career working for Pratt and Whitney Aircraft in West Palm Beach, Florida and as a consultant with the Air National Guards of Baltimore, Maryland, Great Falls, Montana and Portland, Oregon. He enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, hunting, sailing, Fletcher Family reunions and reunions with his classmates from Goffstown. He made lifelong friends wherever he went and never lost touch with them. He lived for fall hunting with Curtis, Steve and Sam, breakfast with his friend Gordon, family visits, trips to Florida sitting by the pool with a glass of wine, and most importantly time spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, to whom he was known as "Grumpa."

His arrival in heaven was preceded by his wife, Virginia Mullen Fletcher, his parents, John and Ida Grace Fletcher and sisters Helen Dawson and Dorothy Jenkins, along with brothers-in-laws James Dawson and Peter Jenkins, all of Goffstown, and Susan Eldridge of Manchester. For Dad, the downside to turning 90 was to outlive cousins and lifelong friends, all special and dear to his heart. Please know that Richard, Jackie, Don, Brian, Peter, Ray, DeeDee, Kenny, Fred and many others held a special place in his heart and enriched his life.

He is survived by his daughters and son-in-laws; Pamela and Gordon Ellis of Epsom, NH, Deborah and Rodney Collins of Lewisburg, WV, Diane and Gaizka Anacabe of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and Donna and Stuart Sanderson of Franklin, TN, who blessed him with the greatest joys of his life, 7 grandchildren; Jonathan (Rocio) and Jason (Makenzi) Collins, Amaia (Michael Zuppinger) and Alexander (Nikki) Anacabe, Fletcher Ellis, and Olivia (Michael Naber) and Michael Sanderson, and 7 great-grandchildren; Maddox Collins, Lander and Lorea Zuppinger, Mia, Callie, and Ian Collins, and Adeline Anacabe. He is also survived by Bonus family that were blessed to have been part of Grumpa's Crew; Kaira and Forrest Ellis, Jessica and Tristan Green, Slade and Bryson Underwood, and Kelley, Courtney and Michaela Demers.

Per his wishes, he will be interred at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, New Hampshire, along with his wife Virginia, on Friday, July 25, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. sharp with full military honors (please arrive 15 minutes early). A lunch will follow the ceremony. He blessed our lives, and we hope you will join us to celebrate a truly special, kind, caring man who will be greatly missed.

Was one of my favorite cousin. He and my brother spent many summers in Canada helping my Grandma Fletcher and Uncle Nelson on the farm. He will be truly missed. RIP ALLEN.
