David Lee Fike, 88, son of the late Cleta and Ernest Fike and late brother, Bill Fike, passed away peacefully July 11, 2025, to his eternal home in Heaven, while surrounded by his family.
Born on March 21, 1937, in Russellville, AR, David's life was full with integrity and devotion to his faith, family, friends and community. His fun-loving spirit and gentle heart left a fruitful impact on everyone who knew him.
David was the cherished husband of the late Dorothy Clark Fike and they made their home in Tulsa, OK for 38 years, proud father of Rick Fike, wife Jana of Adair, OK, daughter Cheri Weaver, husband Brian of Oklahoma City, OK, grandaughter Courtney Hammond, husband Jeremy of Oklahoma City, OK, Aubrey Leitch, husband Alex, of Adair, OK, grandson David Fike, wife Amanda of Glenpool, OK, Samantha Fike of Glenpool, OK and 15 great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters in law and a host of nieces and nephews.
Coaching little league baseball was a passion of David's and creating family memories of summer road trips and Christian holiday memories was important to him. He was known as the favorite "Dad" among all the school and neighborhood children.
A dedicated, hardworking husband and father, David made his career and retired after 38 years in Information Technology from Amerada Hess Oil Corporation in Tulsa, OK.
After retiring and returning to his hometown of Russellville AR, he lived a full life of volunteering and hobbies; golf, fishing, hunting, gardening, woodworking and traveling. He was certain to make everyone of his family members and friends a piece of furniture, bird house, wooden top or wooden box.
In 2014 David married Dorothy Lawless and together in their senior years with her daughters Sharon Benson, Peggy Walters, Brenda Taylor and their families nearby, made memories sharing their lives. Among their favorite activities, he and Dorothy spent much of their time gardening, bird watching, fishing, serving their Church and traveling.
He was a member of First Baptist Church and active servant his entire life to not only his family, but his entire community.
Visitation was held Monday, July 14 at Humphrey Funeral Home followed by a memorial service in Oakland Cemetery in Russellville, AR by Humphrey Funeral Service. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.humphrey funeral.com
