Carl "Pete" J. Hayes, age 76, of Plymouth, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 18, 1949 in Martin, Kentucky to the late Woodrow and Lula (Lewis) Hayes. Pete was a 1967 graduate of Willard High School and proudly served in the U.S. Army. He was a heavy equipment operator for the railroad and was a member of Plymouth American Legion Post 447.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Kathy F. (Lykins) Hayes whom he married on May 10, 1971; 4 children, Danny (Jenni) Paramore of Greenwich, Ohio; Randy (Cathy) Hayes of Mansfield, Ohio; Loretta Hayes-Hill (Dr. Eric Snyder) of Shelby, Ohio; and Tina McDaniel of Willard, Ohio; 12 grandchildren, Brock (Madi) Hayes of Mansfield, Carter (Megan) Hayes of Shelby, Keira (Mykel Smith) Myers of Mansfield, Alex (Courtney Copeland) Hill of Shelby, Brady (Makenna Heimlich) Hill of Shelby, Raven (Connor Henkel) Hill of Shelby, Daron (Maddie) Hayes of Shiloh, Sydney (Nikolai D'Amoco) Gibson of Willard, Danny Paramore Jr. of Willard, Haleigh (Richard) Reed of Norwalk, Deanna Rae (Chance) Fishbaugh of Greenwich, and Joey Tuttle of Butler; 24 great grandchildren; brother, John (Sue) Hayes of Atlanta, Texas; brother-in-law, Dennis Meade of Plymouth; sister-in-law, Linda Hayes of Vermillion, Ohio; former son-in-law and close family friend, Tim Hill; and numerous aunts, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Glenna Meade, and a brother, Oscar Hayes.
Visitation will be at Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth, Ohio on Monday, October 6, 2025 from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM. His visitation will continue on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 from 10:00 AM until the time of his service at 11:00 AM with Pastor George Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to
