Tim Carver Obituary

Tim Lawrence Carver of Crestline, Ohio, passed away on July 4, 2025, at the Crestline Nursing Home after a courageous journey with Alzheimer's disease. Tim was born in Mansfield, Ohio, to Lawrence and Ethel (Hahn) Carver on November 11, 1943. He graduated from Shelby High School, where he excelled in both baseball and basketball. Tim began his professional career at PPG in Crestline. Subsequently, he served as a teller at the Citizens Bank of Shelby, where he ultimately advanced to the position of Vice President. He later became the proprietor of the Athletic Club sports bar in Shelby. Tim then pursued entrepreneurship in home remodeling alongside his son. Tim was a multifaceted individual characterized by a cheerful disposition and a wide array of interests. He enjoyed dancing the two-step to his favorite country songs. He also found pleasure in activities such as camping, boating, playing pool, and golfing. His time spent living on a farm, where he cared for various animals, brought him significant joy. In later years, he demonstrated affection for his pets, including his dog, Cosmo, and his cat, Jerry. His creative talents were evident in his woodworking projects, and he frequently extended his skills to assist family and friends with home remodeling endeavors. Tim was a gifted storyteller, relishing the opportunity to share tales of his life experiences with those closest to him. Above all, Tim placed immense value on his family. Tim is survived by his devoted wife, Laura, whom he married on October 3, 2005; his children, Jody (Mike) Rose of Galion and Curt (Jacqui) Carver of rural Crestline; his stepson Zachary Perry of Marietta, Georgia; his sister, Charlene (Larry) Barnd of Shelby; and his sister-in-law, Ann Carver of Shelby. Additionally, he was a dedicated grandfather who cherished his grandchildren, Xena (Jake Brault) Humphrey of Galion and Ryan Carver of rural Crestline. He is also survived by his in-laws, nieces, nephews, and a multitude of friends. Tim was preceded in death by his biological parents, stepfather Reverend Melvin Welch, and his younger brother, Terry Carver of Shelby. Calling hours will be held on July 8, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at Gompf Funeral Home, located at 223 West Main Street in Crestline, Ohio.
