Charles Ronald "Ron" Packard
Born: February 20, 1947 in Sycamore, IL
Died: June 22, 2025 in Marble Hill, MO
Charles Ronald "Ron" Packard, 78, passed away peacefully at his home in Marble Hill, Missouri, on Sunday, June 22, 2025 surrounded by his family.
He was born February 20, 1947 to Milton Lyle and Ruth Marie Bennett Packard in Sycamore, Illinois and was raised in Genoa, Illinois.
He graduated from Genoa-Kingston High School in 1965 then briefly attended college before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps. and serving his country in the Vietnam War. When he returned home from the war he resumed his education at Kishwaukee College and pursued a career in computer programming.
He was married to Linda Fay Keegan on May 29, 1970 in Genoa, Illinois.
They moved to Caruthersville, Missouri in 1978, where Ron took a job as a data manager at Colson Equipment. They raised their family there and enjoyed 25 years together until her passing in July of 1995.
He moved to Marble Hill, Missouri in 1997 to enjoy life in the country and to be near his children.
On February 1, 2012 he married Melody Anne Miller Ivey, who survives and stood faithfully by his side.
He is also survived by his daughter, Jeri (Terry) Spence of Cape Girardeau; his son, Michael (Lisa) Packard of Kansas City; grandchildren, Charlotte Spence, Kathleen Spence and Fiona Spence all of Cape Girardeau, Brook (Dillon) King of Hayti, Missouri, Dalton Packard of Jacksonville, Florida, Kiara (Marco) Rodriguez of Conway, Missouri, Savanna (Ethan) Lee of Houston, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Wyatt King and Isabella Lee; and two sisters, Donna (Paul) Uram of Absecon, New Jersey and Victoria Packard of Kingsville, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Linda Packard.
Visitation will be 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday, July 10, 2025 at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau.
Memorial service will follow at 7:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
Inurnment will take place at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau at a later date.
