Jean Duffey Obituary
Jean E. Duffey (nee Deary), 94, of Palatine, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 26, 2025, surrounded by family. She was born November 1, 1930, in Seneca Falls, NY, to the late Edna (nee Miller) and George Deary.
Jean was the wife of the late Robert Duffey; mother of Mike Duffey, Kathy (Chuck) Swanson, Timothy (Sharon) Duffey, Patrick (the late Janet) Duffey, Mark (Kim) Duffey, and daughter in-law, Kathryn Duffey; grandmother of 10; great-grandmother of 9; and preceded in death by her 7 siblings.
Visitation Tuesday, July 1, 2025, from 9:00 am to 10:30 am at the Meadows Funeral Home, 3615 Kirchoff Rd., Rolling Meadows. Mass to follow 11:00 am at St. Colette Church, 3900 Meadow Dr., Rolling Meadows. Interment private.

The Duffey Family and the Buchanan Family have been friends for over 50 years. Jean and our mother Rose met while playing volleyball and soon Bob and our Dad Warren made a great foursome, visiting each other, sharing meals, playing golf, going on outings together. This friendship then trickled down to the entire Duffey and Buchanan family over the years. We have all seen each other grow up and have families of our own. Jean was the last one of the original foursome and we are sad at her passing, we send our deepest sympathies to her sons and daughter, the grandkids and great-grandkids. But at the same time we want to express how much we were glad to have her in our lives all this time and greatly admire the energy, vitality, dignity and good humor with which she lived her long life. We will always hold on to many warm memories, filled with good times and laughter.
