Ray and Blaze were generous to me as a young journalist. My work at the Vidette during high school (including publishing the school newspaper in the Vidette!) and in my early college years gave me the clips to move up. The work I did for them also gave me practice. It was good that Ray was a gentle editor and teacher. Plus the Vidette sponsored the Ersatz German Band that I played in during the summer. Ray was a quite an important figure to me as a young adult, and I´ll always be grateful to him.
