Richard Bognar Obituary

Richard L. Bognar

Richard L. Bognar, 81, of Elgin, Illinois, passed away June 30, 2025. He was a son of John and Ruth Bognar and a resident of Elgin most of his life.

Born on June 6, 1944, he was an Army Veteran and longtime employee of Union Special Machine Corp. and Jewel food Store.

Richard was mechanically inclined and enjoyed the challenge of repairing many things. He was also a movie fan, especially of the old classics.

He is survived by his sister, Linda (James) Crinigan of Elgin; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law, Marvin and Romayne Bognar, sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and John W. Knowles, and brother, Larry Bognar.

Following Richard's wishes, private services were held at Bluff City Cemetery, Elgin.

Memorials may be given to Senior Services of Elgin, 101 S. Grove Ave., Elgin, IL 60120.

Arrangements by Wait Ross Allanson Funeral & Cremation Service of Elgin.
