Delora Liggins Obituary

Delora Liggins was born August 13, 1964 in Desoto County, Mississippi to the late Richard and Everlina Liggins. She accepted Christ in her life and served in St. Luke Church of God in Christ until her death.

Delora was known for her loving nature and big heart. She loved her family, and her Church Family. She had many passions in life; she was a Sunday School teacher, a Church secretary for Bible Study, Church Hospitality member, sang in the Women's Choir, and reading.

On Monday, August 11, 2025, Delora departed this earthly life. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, David E. Crutcher, Richard C. Wiseman and Earnest L. Liggins; and one aunt, Annie Mae Rainer.

Delora leaves to cherish her memories one son, Darrel Brooks, Jr.; eight sisters, Magdalena Parker (late Charles), Justine McGowan (Stan), Eva Jean Crutcher, Karen Ann Scruggs (Odell), Estella Greer (Thomas), Vinella Lesuear, Willie Mae Liggins and Charlesetta Purdy (Julian); one brother, Larry Liggins; one aunt, Virginia Lewis; and a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and close friends.

Visitation Friday, August 22, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at H.C. Jett-H.C. Ford Funeral Home, 203 Washington Street, Collierville, TN 38017. Viewing Saturday, August 23, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at St. Luke Church of God in Christ, 7491 Hacks Cross Rd., Olive Branch, MS 38654. Funeral service immediately following at 12:00 p.m. Interment Saturday, August 23, 2025 in Memorial Park South Woods Cemetery, 5485 Hacks Cross Road, Memphis, TN 38125. Elder Earl Allen Shannon, officiating.
