Elizabeth (Liz) Mary Dahl was born December 26, 1958, in Delta, CO, to Joseph and Frances (Ruybal) Martinez. Liz was the second youngest out of 12 children. She graduated from Delta High School in 1977 and went on to graduate from Beauty School in 1979. She met the love of her life, Ronald Dahl, in 1979 in Mack, CO. They married August 2, 1980, at Immaculate Heart of Mary in Grand Junction, CO. 17 years later, in August 1997, they welcomed their oldest daughter, Ashley Martinez- Dahl, and in December 1998 welcomed their youngest daughter, Caitlyn Martinez- Dahl. Liz started working as a paraprofessional at Independence Academy Charter School in 2015. Liz loved helping all the kids and was known by all at the school. Liz was known for her outgoing personality and kind heart. She was always the "life of the party" and knew no stranger. Liz was a born-again Christian who loved her plants, her turquoise jewelry, Diet Pepsi, and spending time with all of her family. Liz also loved spending time at her family cabin her husband built for her in Cedaredge, CO. Liz passed away peacefully, surrounded by family January 10, 2025, after a short battle with cancer. Liz leaves behind her husband, Ronald; daughters, Ashley and Caitlyn; brothers, Tony, Art, Will, Steve, Martin, Anthony; and sisters, Elva, Geraldine, and Carmen. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, who she loved as her own children. Liz is preceded in death by her father and mother, Joseph and Frances Martinez; and brothers, Johnny and Ernest.
Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, January 23rd, at 2 p.m. at Canyon View Vineyard Church.
