Betty Brown Obituary

Betty Jane Caldwell Brown

1933 – 2025

- Betty Jane Caldwell Brown passed away from natural causes on July 1, 2025, in Murray, Utah. She was born on December 7, 1933, in Leamington, Utah to Ivan Verne Caldwell and Eva Anderson Caldwell. Betty graduated from Murray High School and attended Stevens-Henagar College where she met Clifford John Brown. Their first date was to the "Gold and Green Ball". They were married on November 16, 1953, in the Salt Lake Temple. Betty loved Murray and was a life-long resident. She served as an officer of the Murray City Fireman's auxiliary. Betty worked various jobs, but her biggest accomplishment was that of being a mother and homemaker. She was a lifelong active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many different callings in every organization. Betty loved to crochet and made many gifts for her neighbors and friends. She also enjoyed writing poetry. Betty loved to play the steel guitar and the ukelele. She was an accomplished gardener and enjoyed canning. Betty was also a great cook. She was loved by all who knew her and made friends wherever she went.

Betty is survived by Janeene (Ray) Timothy, Joanne (Rick) Beckstead, Reed (Julie) Brown, David (Joye) Brown, Jeanette (Dan) Larson, 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, brothers Art and Jeff, and Sister Cherie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cliff Brown, and grandsons, Kelly and Kerry Timothy.

The family is very grateful for the loving care Betty received from Hali and Liz with Renew Home Health and Hospice. And for all the staff at the Abbington Assisted Living Center that made Betty feel comfortable and at home during her entire time there.

My sweet Betty,
Oh how I loved Betty! She and I go a long ways back in the Hillside Ward that was dissolved. We visit taught together and had other callings together. She was a joy! She would tell jokes and sing little songs or poems to lighten the day. I will miss her. She is amazing! Love you Betty!

Brown family,
We are so saddened by the passing of Betty. We have loved having her in the Hillside Branch at Abbington. She is a special lady and will be missed. She was always positive, even during the hard days. She is wonderful!
Love,
