Joshua Horner Obituary

1976 ~ 2014
On Aug. 1, 2014 our loving family member was taken by an auto accident.
Josh was born April 14, 1976 to Joe and Cookie Horner. In 1979 Josh welcomed a new father when Cookie married Drew Chappell. Josh, his twin brother, Joe and older sister Lisa were very close. Josh had a gift for art, kind heart, genuine smile, and willingness to help others. The most precious part in Josh's life was his beautiful daughter, Addie. Josh was so proud of her and loved her with all his heart. He also loved his job at the Sierra Army Depot in California where he worked as a plumber.
In Josh's honor a luncheon and gathering was held at the Depot for his family, friends and co-workers where stories were shared of his hard work, dedication, and fond memories.
In lieu of flowers, a charitable fund for Addie Lynn Caldwell is available to accept donations at American First Credit Union in Bountiful, Utah.

I was blessed to have had the opportunity to know both Josh & Joey when they were growing up & attending the Northwest Multi Purpose summer camps, I was for at least 2yrs their camp counselor
Those days & times I will never forget, of all the kids in my group they were leaders & set a positive tone for everyone"
They were also very funny, one incident I particularly remember is their mom arriving to take them home & we were caught up in some game or something & after 2 or 3 times of her telling them they needed to go
Josh replied "Women, can't live with em, can't live with em...lol
I have so many awesome memories of Josh & Joey & I know this is in memory of Josh but everyone knows you can't talk about one without the other because they were the true definition of twins, always together & always there for each other!!!! Words cannot describe the sadness I have since learning of this loss & to the family I pray that God will continue to comfort, strengthen & keep you in His love & grace"
It's been years but know that I have never forgot you guys & I love you very much
Your friend...Keni Aloha Nui

Daddy love of his life and best friend..

Words seem inadequate to express the sorrow felt by the loss of Josh. My heart is with the family. I remember the day they were born, such cute twins. Josh will be Forever Remembered, Forever Missed. I wish you peace.

Joshua, we will miss you here in Utah! As an extended member of your family, we will miss your great smile and gentle nature. I will always remember your willingness to help others. Especially how you helped at our annual "New Years" party held at Aunt Mables'. It was very clear your family loved you from the start and was thrilled to have another set of twins in the family!

Our prayers and blessings goes out to the family and Addie.

When you lose someone you love, you gain an angel you know, that is what my cousin Josh has become, he is now an angel we must all share. We love you and will greatly miss you Josh. It really breaks our hearts to lose you so soon, so hold on to the great memories until we meet again.

Joshua, words cannot express how grateful I am that you gave me our beautiful daughter, and even through the unlikeliest of circumstances, we made the best of it and gave Addie Lynn the best parents she could ask for. I count my lucky stars every day that you were a part of my life and more than anything else, a part of Addies. You are an amazing Father and its very difficult being without you but I know there's so much of you in our little girl already. She's witty, and charming and can make a friend the second she walks in the room, loves sports and athletics and always has a smile on her face. She will forever remember you for the kind gentle man you were.
My heart goes out to all of you who knew and loved Josh, I am so grateful he had such caring people all around him. I owe my gratitude to everyone who has put even a cent into Addies trust fund and help her have a stable financial future. From the bottom.of my heart, thank you all.

When I first met Josh, I had no idea that he would become such a huge part of my life. About six years ago I was tending the the Bounce house at a local "Doyle Days". He was just wandering through the park, checking out all the families visiting one another. He came and sat down by me, smiling the entire time. He handed me a $20 bill, and kindly said, "Here, let all the kids go in whenever they want for the rest of the day." Then he just sat on the grass and watched, he talked with a few of them, kind words to all. I casually conversed with him as well, not really knowing who he was.
It was about three years later that this kind, warm face reappeared in my life...as the father of my grand-daughter, Addie Lynn. Over the past three years, I have discovered what others already knew: that Josh was a caring, kind, compassionate young man with a heart of gold, especially for his family. He was always happy when he was with Addie. She brought out his best, which was already pretty awesome. Thank you, Joshua, for being part of my life.

I have so many childhood memories growing up in Rose Park with the twins. They were older than me but always looked out for the neighborhood kids. Josh will be missed by all those who were blessed enough to have met him. My sincere condolences to Joe and the rest of the Horner family.

Thank you for being such a kind man. I am going to miss that smile and laugh. I never got to make you that dinner you won in a friendly game of cards. You opened your heart to Dante and I. I'll never forget that Thanksgiving almost 13 years ago. Can't wait to see you again! <3 ya man!!!
