James William Lyons II

August 5, 1939 - June 28, 2025

Denison, Texas - James William "Jim" Lyons II, 85, passed away peacefully at his home in Denison, Texas, on June 28, 2025, after facing cancer with dignity and grace. A man of deep faith and unwavering commitment, Jim lived a life defined by service, integrity, and compassion.

Professionally trained as an architect, Jim brought creativity and precision to his work. Beyond his career, he dedicated himself to helping others through mission trips, prison ministry programs, and volunteer efforts with organizations such as Toys for Tots and Four Rivers Outreach. His leadership and generosity touched many lives.

Jim proudly served as a United States Marine and carried that sense of duty into every aspect of his life. He found purpose in mentoring others and offering support where it was most needed.

He is lovingly remembered by his daughters Melanie Hackenberg, Hollie Savell, and Karie Beth Collins; stepdaughter Leeann Nassoy and her husband Shane; stepson Kyle Lovelady and his wife Kelly; eleven grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Brenda Lyons.

A Celebration of Life will be held on August 2, 2025, at Georgetown Baptist Church, 207 Georgetown Road. Visitation will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., followed by the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Jim's memory to Four Rivers Outreach (http://fourivers.org/), Toys for Tots, or www.HomeHospice.org. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the team at Home Hospice for their compassionate care during Jim's final days.
