Otto Puder Obituary

Edward Otto Puder passed away peacefully on February 3, 2025 at Baptist Memorial Hospital - Union County in New Albany, Mississippi, at the age of 78. Born on July 31, 1946, in Straubing, Germany, Otto was a man of many talents and an embodiment of the words handy, creative, and intelligent.

Otto's life was rich with love and accomplishment. He shared a beautiful marriage with his beloved wife, Wanda Hill Puder, and was a devoted father to his five children: Leah Puder Berryhill (Keith), Olivia Puder Bracero, Therese Pearl Puder Mills (Ronnie), Lora Puder Merriman (Derek), and Erik Puder (Alison). His legacy continued to grow with his 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and pride.

Otto's sisters, Erika Kerr (James), Ella Hilton, Lydia Walent, and Susan Sing, remember him fondly as a cherished brother. He was predeceased by his parents, Theodore and Elsa Jeski Puder, his son-in-law, Isaac Bracero, and three siblings, who all held a special place in his heart.

Professionally, Otto retired as a truck driver, but his career was diverse and skillful. He excelled in management roles within furniture factories and was recognized as a master craftsman of furniture. His gifted hands were also put to use as a carpenter, creating beautiful patio and lawn furniture that many enjoyed.

Otto's interests and hobbies were a testament to his creative spirit. He was an accomplished painter, pottery maker, and even restored a piano from pieces shipped to him. His musical talents extended to playing various instruments, and he was known for his homemade wines. He also loved gardening. There was hardly anything he couldn't fix, a testament to his intelligence and resourcefulness.

Otto was a devout Christian and spread the Gospel to many people. He helped to establish the Lutheran Church in Holly Springs. He read the Bible daily and brought many people to know the Lord. Nothing was more important to him than God, his family and his love for life.

Edward Otto Puder's life was a tapestry woven with dedication, artistry, and love. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, leaving behind a legacy of beauty and craftsmanship that will endure in the hearts and homes of his family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Pastor David MacKain will officiate.
